Online Stereos Stores in Australia

Online stereos stores

All the important manufacturers have online stores though they may not be specific to Australia.   But the popular ones like Sony, Apple, and Yamaha, have online stores that are specific to Australia.

Deals and discounts would be available only on online sites like Ebay, which sell used equipment, or other online sites, which sell old stock.  Genuine manufacturers very rarely offer deals and discounts unless it is Christmastime.

Anything that one wants can be ordered online ranging from pre amplifiers, amplifiers, to turntables, and CD players and Home Theatre systems.  There is no limit to what one can order online.  All shapes and sizes of stereos and stereo systems are available online.

Always buy stereos from genuine dealers only.  When buying second hand or used stereos make sure that the seller is reliable.  If possible listen to the equipment before buying.  This rule applies to new equipment too.

When buying amplifiers you would want one that would supply clear and sweet sound even at high volumes.  What you need to look out for is the Root Mean Square value of amplification and also the Total Harmonic Distortion rating for the amplifier.  The lower the Distortion rating the better it is.  All good amplifiers have distortion ratings below 1 and the best ones have a rating as low as 0.1 percent.

When buying speakers make sure you check the compatibility of the speaker with your existing amplifier.  All speakers have an input impedance of either 4 ohms or 8 ohms.  Make sure you verify your equipment.  If possible, listen to the speakers with your setup before deciding on the final buy.  Also decide whether you would want bookshelf speakers or floor standing speakers.  Floor standing speakers are best for large rooms, which can take the bass thump and amplification.  Bookshelf speakers are suitable for smaller closed rooms, which are cluttered.

You may also want to improve your bass response by adding sub woofers to your existing stereo.  Subwoofers amplify the low-end frequencies starting from 10 hertz or lower.  Subwoofers are of two types: powered, and unpowered.  Unpowered subwoofers are also known as passive subwoofers and rely on the amplifier to generate the bass response.  Powered sub woofers further amplify the input signal and enhance the bass response.  If you are buying powered sub woofers make sure that they are compatible with your existing amplifier.  If you are buying passive subwoofers make sure that your amplifier is powerful enough to drive them.
